Position Purpose The Rosato lab studies the function and regulation of T cells in distinct tissue environments, with an emphasis on nervous tissue, to be able to contextualize their role in health and disease. And the potential to study how environmental influences drive activity dependent maturation of the nervous and immune systems throughout life. The successful candidate will conduct tests and experiments under guidance from the Principal Investigator and lab members as defined in the lab's research protocols. Responsibilities will include daily laboratory operations, mouse husbandry and tissue collection, designing and executing experiments, applying established methods, procedures, and techniques. Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Experience:
Associates degree with a major in biological science or related field or equivalent and one year of relevant lab or science experience. Or Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience Basic laboratory skills:
Molarity/dilution calculations, accurate solution formulation, ability to understand and follow basic laboratory protocols independently, willingness to work with mice and infectious agents.
Good judgment and good organizational and time management skills.
Maintenance of accurate lab notebooks Preferred Qualifications BA/BS in a biological science or related field or equivalent.
Conducts literature searches and reports on current state of specific aspects of the field related to independent work.
