R D- Technician III The Sherwin-Williams Company $56,743.44 - $70,367.43 Annually United States, Ohio, Brecksville 8805 Brecksville Road (Show on map) May 14, 2026 The Technician III position for the Raw Material Technology team is responsible for the timely and efficient testing of raw material technologies in support of our alternate strategy through planning and executing of experiments with clear and accurate results demonstrating basic knowledge of chemicals and raw materials. Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Supporting raw material alternates qualification to achieve risk reduction, cost savings and simplification.
  • Performing lab testing including scale ups, performance testing and heat age stability
  • Support of routine experiments, recording results and learning basic knowledge of equipment/computing tools to capture and record data
  • Communication within the project team regarding project needs and status
  • Developing basic knowledge and understanding of product lines and raw materials
  • Executes and analyzes experiments and provides regular updates
  • Establishes timeline for assignments based on priorities with assistance from their supervisor. Identifies and resolves development hurdles.
  • Writes basic reports, outlines procedures used, and results obtained.
  • Recognizes problems and implements corrective actions to resolve the issue.
  • Analyzes data, begins to draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Proficient in operating moderately complex lab instruments. Basic Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without needing sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in an industrial lab setting Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in an industrial lab setting
  • Previous paint making experience
  • Design of Experiments
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma, and Voice of the Customer
