What We're Looking For:
Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology required OR completion of equivalent military training (50+ weeks) One year of laboratory experience preferred (Clinical internship of 12 months meets this requirement) MLT certification (or eligible) through ASCP or AMT required Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already certified Ongoing maintenance of certification required Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and quality control procedures Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm in emergency situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
What You'll Do:
This position will work independently a majority of the time, requiring strong clinical judgment, technical competence, and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic emergency setting. Perform analytical testing of patient specimens Conduct quality control and equipment maintenance Troubleshoot instrumentation issues Maintain accurate documentation and utilize LIS systems Ensure regulatory compliance and inspection readiness Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff Practice efficient inventory management Follow all laboratory and safety protocols
