Non-Registered Sleep Technician Conway Medical Center • Sleep Lab Conway, SC Professional/Technical Full Time, Primarily 3rd Shift- Nights, 80 Posted 05/29/2026 Req # 13269
Position Summary:
The Sleep Technician - Non-Registered will perform various polysomnograms and other sleep disorder tests as needed. Assists in the scheduling process as needed to assure patients are scheduled, insurance authorizationplete, and patient attends study.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of required training per Sleep Accreditation Board (i.e. AASM) for eligibility to sit for registry exam preferred. Associate degree (AS) in health-related field with an emphasis in polysomnography preferred. Experience Minimum 6 months of clinical polysomnography care experience required. Licensure/Certification/Registration Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Registered Polysomnography Technologist by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) required or must be obtained with two (2) years of employment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet all patients and their apanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service. Scores studies and reports data from various studies and reports this information to the physician. Perform the following processes including but not limited to: explain the procedure and orient the patient to the sleep center, prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning, perform routine PAP mask fitting, and electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. Assist with "lights out" procedures to establish and document baseline values. Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnography results. Complete other duties as assigned. Work effectively and collaboratively with imaging colleagues, physicians, and department heads. Effectively utilize stronganizational skills. Consistently display effective verbal and writtenmunication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required. Regularly exercise independent judgement.
