Job DescriptionThe Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP's.
Analyst I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityApplies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriatePerforms routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs.
Works under close supervision using routine and standard methodsAliquots and weighs samplesWashes glasswareConducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate would possess:
Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and conceptsAbility to complete work within time and quality constraintsCan work independently following written or verbal instructionsCooperate and coordinate both orally and in writingAble to follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:
Organic preparationMetals preparation and analysisGas ChromatographyGas Chromatography/Mass SpectrometryRadio ChemistryWet ChemistryHigh Resolution preparation and analysisLow Resolution preparation and analysis
Laboratory experience is a plusPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)

Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesCalculating dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceResponsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins' EHS and QA standardsResponsible for general housekeeping in his/her work areaAbility to become trained and competent on complex instrumentation including but not limited to gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, and instrument specific data systems.Works under close supervision using routine and standard methodsAliquots and weighs samplesWashes glasswareConducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate would possess:

QualificationsBasic Minimum Qualifications:
BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.Laboratory experience is a plusPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
Additional InformationRequirements:
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in EnglishPosition is full-time Monday- Friday 1st shift. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Irmo, SC are encouraged to apply. Pay rate: $18

- Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
