FT Days Work Schedule:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Team member is responsible for pre-analytical processing of laboratory specimens, to include order processing, specimen verification, centrifugation, aliquoting, etc. Team member validates and processes specimens delivered to the laboratory, facilitating timely and appropriate specimen preparation for testing. Team member may be responsible for performing phlebotomy. Team member must be able to make decisions and solve problems, recognizing when to involve leadership support. Team member is responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Team member will advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software, as necessary.What We're Looking For Education:
High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience:
Three year of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing experience preferred.Licensure/certification/registration:
Phlebotomy certification in facilities s where phlebotomy required in role required.For Phlebotomy:
ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA required. Refer to the Life Support Training PolicyNH-HR-3096.
Additional skills required: For facilities where phlebotomy is a requirement of the role, the certification must be obtained within six months or hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public.
