A Sleep Laboratory Technician, also known as a polysomnographic technician, performs tests and collects data on patients with sleep disorders. Responsible for giving patients explanations of the impending sleep tests and procedures, preparing equipment for the procedures, recording activities and analyzing results - all while working under the advisement of a clinical director and/or sleep technologist.

Job Description

The Sleep Technician or Polysomnographer performs routine and complex procedures, to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system, in at least two of the following fields of technical
Neurophysiology:
Electroencephalograph, Evoked Potentials, or Epilepsy and Sleep.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • + Associate's degree in a biological or physiological sciences program or equivalent number of years' experience in a biological or psychological field; as required by state regulations or contract specifications + National Board Registration in one or more of three areas: EEG, Evoked Potential, Polysomnography is preferred and may be required by state regulations or contract specifications + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age •Benefits•At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs •Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
