Job Description

Lab Technician Shift/Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate:
$30/hr+,
DOE Location:
Hitchcock, TX Experience:
3-5 years of experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Technician to join our client's team in Hitchcock, TX. The ideal candidate will assist in analyzing and reporting various samples from different job sites in the oil and gas as well as wastewater spaces. This role plays a critical part in accurately applying a treatment program to the different samples and accurately identifying possible hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze wastewater, sludge, effluent, and oil samples using standard laboratory methods Perform tests including chemical dosing, neutralization, oil extraction, TSS, pH, and other industry methods Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation Maintain accurate laboratory sample logging and records Assist with reporting results to the laboratory manager Ensure laboratory cleanliness, safety, and proper disposal of chemical waste Support operational staff with process troubleshooting and special studies Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science) preferred Must possess basic computer, mathematics, and science skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Intermediate to advanced knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control practices Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under minimal supervision Experience in a water or wastewater laboratory setting preferred Familiarity with EPA and ASTM Standard Methods preferred Join Us.
