POSITION SUMMARY
: Responsible for providing analytical support to the operations units by analyzing raw material, in process, environmental and final product samples on a rotating shift schedule for a facility that operates 24/7 365. Maintains operating supplies, performs equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Analyze samples according to established procedures, both scheduled and unscheduled
  • Communicate results of analyses appropriately to applicable parties, and recording of results in lab notebooks
  • Involvement in the development of new methods and techniques
  • Completion of special requests of unknown samples and trial products
  • Proper disposition of waste material
  • Computer navigation skills, cBliss analytical LIMS software, SAP, and Microsoft Office
  • Prioritize workload to perform both immediate sample schedule and long term (equipment calibrations, preventive maintenance, supplies and safety inspections, resamples)
  • Preventative maintenance on lab equipment, creation of lab standards
  • Maintain operating supplies
  • Performs equipment calibrations and maintenance
  • Conform to ISO 9001 and 14001 policies
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving
  • Good communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Effective troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to comprehend complex chemical processes
  • Understanding of chemistry, distillation processes
  • Ability to work in a self-directed work team including scheduling vacation and providing overtime coverage as necessary

  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interpret results to determine next steps.
  • Ability to multi-task, run multiple samples at once in different areas.
DESIRABLES
  • Diligence, thoroughness, dependability, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, orderliness, decisiveness
  • Two years + of college chemistry
  • Manufacturing laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and policies
  • Knowledge and understanding of cGMPs.
  • Previous experience with ISO 9001 and/or
ISO 14001
  • Experience with Gas Chromatography, titrations, and spectroscopy
  • Experience with FDA regulated products and procedures
