Job Description
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) — Overnight Sleep Studies (Mon-Fri, No Weekends) Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders (TIND) is hiring an experienced Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to perform overnight sleep studies only in a professional, patient-centered sleep lab. This position focuses on diagnostic polysomnography (PSG) and titration studies, including CPAP/BiPAP, remedē® System studies, and Inspire® titration/optimization studies. What You'll DoOvernight Study Prep & Patient Care Prepare patients for overnight diagnostic and titration studies: PSG, CPAP/BiPAP, remedē, and Inspire . Explain procedures clearly, set expectations, and ensure patient comfort and cooperation. Apply and calibrate electrodes, sensors, and monitoring equipment in alignment with AASM guidelines . Verify signal quality and ensure all channels are recording appropriately prior to lights out. Overnight Monitoring & Intervention Conduct and monitor overnight sleep studies, documenting observations and physiologic data throughout the night. Recognize, respond to, and document events such as apneas, hypopneas, desaturations, arousals, arrhythmias , and respiratory pattern changes. Perform therapeutic titrations per physician protocol for: CPAP/BiPAP remedē-related studies (understanding therapy goals, study workflow, and data needs) Inspire-related titration/optimization studies (understanding therapy functionality and study objectives) Troubleshoot and correct equipment, sensor, or signal issues in real time to maintain high-quality recordings. Maintain a calm, professional presence while addressing patient needs during the shift. Scoring & Documentation Score sleep stages, respiratory events, arousals, and cardiac events per AASM scoring rules . Produce accurate preliminary reports for physician review. Maintain complete, timely documentation in the electronic record system. Required Qualifications RPSGT credential (BRPT) in good standing. Current BLS certification . 3+ years of experience performing overnight sleep studies.
Strong working knowledge of:
PSG acquisition and monitoring CPAP/BiPAP titration remedē and Inspire-related studies , including the purpose, workflow, titration/optimization goals, and documentation expectations Excellent patient care, communication, and technical troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with sleep diagnostic/scoring software (please list platforms in your application). Schedule & Work Requirements Overnight shifts, Monday-Friday No weekend shifts Ability to remain attentive and responsive throughout the night Ability to assist patients and manage equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting Ability to respond quickly to patient needs and study eventsJob Type:
