About ION ION Biosciences is a biotechnology company based in San Marcos, Texas. We are focused on the development and use of leading-edge fluorescent assay technologies to accelerate drug discovery research. Our product portfolio includes fluorescent ion indicators and reagents which measure cell activities in response to compounds such as drugs or other biological cues. Position Summary ION Biosciences is offering a full-time, onsite Laboratory Technician position to join our Quality Control team. This role reports to the Quality Control Manager. This role will require strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail. This position will be responsible for preparing, inspecting, and validating ION's products to ensure they meet quality standards. The applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to prepare client orders and create accurate documentation in support of order fulfillment and quality standards. Pay for this position is $18/hr. Responsibilities Assemble products for order fulfillment by labeling, packaging, and creating shipping documentation. Create order documentation from client's purchase orders like packing slips and invoices. Assemble products for internal and external distribution by pipetting, labeling, sealing, and packaging components. General laboratory cleaning and equipment maintenance like vacuum pump oil changes, condenser cleaning, laboratory glassware washing and waste disposal. Collect and evaluate data which is used to draft quality reports. Production of buffer solutions and cell passaging and maintenance. Inventory management by weekly inventorying of supplies and products. Learn how to operate and calibrate quality equipment (e.g. balances, pH meter, osmometer, spec-trophotometers). Qualifications Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills- the ideal candidate is extremely organized and pays close attention to detail. Mid-Level computer skills in operational software (e.g. Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Slack). Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies. Able to operate independently under general supervision with minimal human error. Team player who develops interpersonal skills and can work with others. No college degree is required for this role. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Requirements Daily duties are performed onsite, in an office and laboratory setting. Minimum of 40 hours per week with promotion pathways defined. May require lifting or moving items weighing up to 40 lbs. ION Biosciences can train the right candidate in all the laboratory skills they will need. No prior laboratory experience is required. Prior Quality Control experience in any industry is a plus. Extreme attention to detail, a willingness to learn and the right attitude will go far to highlight the proper candidate.

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
