DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide support to the GC Lab in the production of packed columns for various gas chromatography applications.
  • Perform routine production of packed columns in a high-throughput manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to complete training, quickly learn and gain proficiency in the production process.
  • Adherence to safety policies and the use of personal protective equipment is required.
  • Must be able to learn and perform the proper handling of chemicals and high-grade materials.
  • Adherence to quality specifications and production requirements.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities as set by the supervisor.
  • Complete regular supply inventory counts and perform replenishment orders.
  • Respond to Requests For Quotes (RFQ's) and provide pricing to Proposals Group.
  • Receive Sales Orders and determine product specifications.
  • Prepare shipping documents to complete the Sales Order process.
  • Provide production schedule updates and estimate completion dates.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and perform training of personnel.
  • Collect and record detailed data related to the production process.
  • Duties will require the use of pressure gauges, flow meters, and basic chemistry.
  • Identify and report potential quality problems to management.
  • Test new methodologies and report observations to the quality improvement team.
  • Support the team to ensure the highest quality, cleanliness and safety of the Column Lab.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some advanced level or college courses in chemistry, physics and engineering are preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial environment is required.
  • Experience in Gas Chromatography is a plus.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office for data logging and production reporting.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong attention to technical details.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking ability.
  • Good communication of production status and technical issues.
