Job Description
The Department of Languages and Cultures is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to work as a lab attendant in the foreign language lab. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Assist the lab manager in developing, executing, promoting, and maintaining various projects to enhance and carry out the lab vision and mission.
Assist with daily operations, which may include the following: checking students in/out of lab; opening/closing lab; answering phone/email; organizing library; assisting lab manager and tutors with scheduling; general upkeep.
Assist students, tutors, and faculty to reserve lab space and to access learning materials and audio-visual equipment.
Create, maintain, and organize reports, in conjunction with lab manager.
Produce and disseminate promotional materials.
Assist in hosting language-related events in the lab.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Language Hub manager.
Current UVU student
Registered for a minimum of 6.0 credits.
For Fall 2026 we are particularly looking for somebody who is mostly available Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Ethical, responsible, motivated self-starter and problem-solver.
Ability to adhere to a set schedule with little supervision.
Evidence of advanced customer service and interpersonal skills.
General computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.).
General understanding of second-language acquisition.
