Job Description

Position Highlights:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Obtains proper specimens for tests requested. Completes necessary request forms to accompany specimens. Performs any laboratory procedures as delegated by the Laboratory Team Leader (following procedures outlined in the procedures manual) and requesting assistance as necessary. Participates and documents in laboratory quality control program. Performs proficiency testing as requested by Team Leader. Performs routine maintenance on lab equipment. Distributes all lab reports to appropriate medical personnel. Files duplicates of all lab specimens as required, distributes the specimens to proper testing area or prepares specimens for transport elsewhere. Completes daily log sheets showing complete listing of patients and tests performed. Orders laboratory supplies from Supply Department and replenish as needed. Participates in the continuing education process. Attends work as scheduled. Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
POLT Certificate, preferred. Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist Maintain current CPR certification.
