Lab Technician Job Description Responsibility Outline
Lab:
(including: color matches, solvents, production batch making), assist with weekly and monthly inventory checklist, color checking batches before going into production for quality assurance, housekeeping and organizing
Color Control:
Custom matches, In-house standard formula batches (in all bases).
- Monitor daily schedules for Special colors and high volume colors to ensure material is ready
- Run product to machine operators, QC easels, Sample room or other departments
- Work with all finishing areas of the plant for quality assurance, trouble shooting and fixes (as needed)
- PPE, Safety, Procedures and Waste Handling
- Waste procedures, training and pick-up
Daily Duties Can Vary:
Assist in maintaining color control for all online and offline colors; finish coating control for all online and offline coatings; SPC colors. Work with production to ensure all finishes are meeting spec's; adjust/fix any finishes that are out of tolerances, assist with color standard samples for all areas. Assist with managing the waste stream, working with departments on minimizing waste, proper disposal methods, including: Labeling, Markers, which waste stream to use and Logging.
