VMRD is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual (s) for our Lab Assistant Internship program. The individual (s) will support various functions/teams across the organization. Your day to day will depend on the project/team you will be assigned to throughout your internship. The position will offer an opportunity of insight into working in the lab or operations while building a foundation for a future career in science or research.Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with basic laboratory tasks including cleaning, organizing, and setting up equipment. Prepare solutions, samples, and materials under supervision. Help with inventory management of lab supplies and equipment. Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, safe working environment. Support team members in day-to-day research and operational activities. Participate on projects throughout the organization. Participate in team meetings and occasional training workshops. Other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Completes work with accuracy and thoroughness Exhibits constancy and reliability Motivated and self-directed Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Previous work in a lab environment Basic understanding of lab safety and common lab practices (training provided). Interest in science, research, healthcare, or related fields. Experience withMS Office Excel, Word Education, Licenses and Certifications:
High school junior/senior or currently enrolled in a college program related to science, healthcare, or technology. Physical Requirements for theJob:
Must be able to move 50 lbs Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Work Schedule Flexible part-time hours: 10-40 hours per week, May-August Pay is $18.00 per hourSimilar remote jobs
