Job Description
Darigold is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to be a part of the team in Spokane, Washington. They are responsible for the day-to-day functions in the lab, and for ensuring all quality and food safety related tasks are completed in a timely manner. What you Will Do Ensure that all products' analytical, micro and organoleptic properties are in compliance with product and regulatory specifications. Communicating to appropriate parties when samples do not meet specifications. Obtain samples for micro and analytical testing. Calibrating and maintaining all laboratory equipment per the established schedule. Performing extra testing and retesting when needed or as directed by management. Reporting results in a timely and accurate manner to Quality Assurance, Operations, and Accounting departments via emailed reports and/or in person. Preparing Certificates of Analysis as needed and emailing results out to customers. Perform swabbing of the plant floors, walls, and equipment for microbiological testing and report on results. Prepare and send out samples for third party monthly, quarterly, and biannual testing. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50lbs Responsible for reporting all food safety and/or quality concerns to Management. Other duties as assigned are based on department needs. What You will Bring Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating levels of work each day. Basic understanding of microbiology and chemistry Basic understanding and competence using Microsoft Office programs such as excel, word, outlook. Education, Experience and Certifications High school diploma or equivalent required for this position. Basic computer literacy required for this position. Nice-to-Have's Associate's degree in a science discipline preferred Prior laboratory experience strongly preferred. Prior experience in a dairy processing environment preferred
