Job Description
Job Description Davy Laboratories is a full-service environmental laboratory that services communities, industries, and the private sector. Located in downtown La Crosse, WI, we provide comprehensive analysis of drinking water, wastewater, soil, and sludge. Davy Laboratories is accredited in the areas of inorganic wet chemistry, trace metals, organic, and microbiological analysis across the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. Davy Laboratories currently has an opening for a full-time Laboratory Technician position in the Trace Metals section of our laboratory. We are seeking a detail-oriented person to perform the following tasks: Key Responsibilities Perform digestions of samples and prepare them for instrument analysis Prepare calibration standards and solutions necessary for instrument calibration Execute tasks essential for laboratory maintenance, operation, and quality assurance Analyze and record data in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures Perform basic calculations necessary for analytical data interpretation Adherence to all laboratory safety protocols, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) Job Requirements Familiarity with analytical instrumentation (experience with graphite furnace, flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, and ICP analysis a plus) Comfortability and familiarity with working with caustic acids and reagents Strong computer and communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment Must be detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize based on client/sample demands Ability to multitask and desire to work on several projects at once Team-orientated worker and eager to learn Please submit the following: Resume and cover letter Three references with names, addresses, and telephone numbers Davy Laboratories is an equal opportunity employer.
