Job Description
Job Title:
Lab Technician Responsibilities + Perform daily chemistry-based testing, including food chemistry analyses such as pH, fat, protein, moisture, alcohol content, and other routine wet chemistry tests. + Assist chemists and fellow lab technicians with various test methods and laboratory procedures as needed. + Accurately document daily laboratory data and complete all required forms, logs, and documentation in a timely and organized manner. + Clean, maintain, and prepare laboratory equipment, workstations, and testing areas on a daily basis to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. + Receive and process samples in the lab, including interacting with front and back-of-house areas to ensure proper sample handling and chain of custody. + Follow established laboratory protocols, quality standards, and safety procedures for all testing and handling of samples. + Learn and perform additional test methods and more advanced testing procedures after demonstrating proficiency in core responsibilities. + Communicate professionally with sample couriers, lab technicians, supervisors, and managers on a daily basis to coordinate testing and workflow. + Interact with clients primarily via email, and occasionally by phone, to support testing needs, clarify requests, and ensure excellent service. + Maintain composure and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume testing environment, especially during peak sample periods. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
