Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Lab Technician for a contract opportunity in Wauwatosa, WI.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): Minimum associates degree or equivalent lab, pilot, or manufacturing experience in adhesive/sealant industry Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills and high intellectual curiosity Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Willingness to take direction, but also work both independently and as a part of a collaborative team Ability to effectively communicate project results to the Sealing & Bonding team members as well as other Bostik R D teams Strong mechanical skills; willingness to maintain lab equipment and mixing equipment Accuracy and attention to detail
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Sealing & Bonding team members on research and development of water based and moisture curable sealants and adhesives Observe and perform lab-scale experiments designed by research team, document observations, and communicate detailed findings to the group Characterize physical and mechanical properties of lab- and full-scale adhesives using various analytical techniques (Viscosity, tensile testing, extrusion, peel strength, stability testing, color matching, etc…) Document results in electronic lab notebook (Patent Safe) and summarize findings in written reports Perform job hazard assessments and develop best practices for lab procedures Maintain lab equipment; ensure lab area is clean and well-organized Manage inventory and organization of laboratory raw materials and test substrates to ensure operational continuity Assemble data and submit documentation for regulatory review of new raw materials and products Coordinate shipping of experimental samples Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific EHS expectations
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Accredited Minimum associates degree or equivalent lab, pilot, or manufacturing experience in adhesive/sealant industry
