Reports To Education/Qualifications Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college Sheridan College Student currently enrolled Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The student laboratory technician is someone who is enrolled in or has completed at least two science courses at Sheridan College and is proficient in algebra. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Appropriate safety training and protective equipment will be provided. The lab technician will be responsible for working with potentially hazardous biological and chemical materials. Occasionally lifting heavy items (up to 50 pounds) is a requirement. Percentage of time 100% Responsibility/Duty Successful applicants will have good organizational skills and be comfortable working with multiple faculty. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cleaning glassware, preparing solutions, prepping microbiological media, autoclaving, filling and transporting 5 gallon tanks with purified water.
