Job Description

About us •Women's Medical Center, P.C.•is an OB/GYN practice located in Dothan, AL. We pride ourselves on being professional, agile, and innovative to provide our patients with the highest-quality obstetrics and gynecology (ob/gyn) care. We treat each patient with compassion and courtesy, aiming to build lasting relationships and become their lifelong healthcare partner. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our practice. The Phone Nurse, or Telephone Triage Nurse, assesses patient symptoms over the phone to provide medical advice, educational guidance, and to determine the appropriate level of care, which may include self-care, a doctor's visit, or emergency services.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' symptoms, concerns, and medical history over the phone to determine the urgency of their condition.
Medical Advice and Education:
Provide accurate, evidence-based medical advice and clear instructions on self-care, medication management, and necessary follow-up steps.
Triage and Referral:
Determine the most appropriate level of care, such as home care, a scheduled appointment with a provider, or referral to emergency services, and make the necessary arrangements.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records of patient interactions, assessments, and recommendations in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Coordination of Care:
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to patient care.
Emergency Management:
Handle emergency calls effectively, provide immediate guidance, and initiate protocols for critical situations.
Patient Support:
Offer emotional support and address patient and family concerns with empathy and clear communication.
Continuing Education:
Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up to date on the latest medical practices, protocols, and technologies.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
