In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health environments. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through skilled assessments, treatment plans, and compassionate support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse populations, from pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring quality care in accordance with healthcare standards and regulations. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding management, and ostomy care in various clinical settings. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, and basic imaging procedures like mammography or radiology when applicable. Provide critical care support in emergency situations such as trauma medicine at Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU environments; manage airway, ventilator support, and acute pain management strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for patients with complex needs like dementia or developmental disabilities. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards while ensuring seamless communication across healthcare providers using EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Experience Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), ICU/CCU/PICU units, outpatient clinics, or home care environments. Demonstrated proficiency in handling specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterization, dialysis management, trauma triage, infectious disease care, or hospice & palliative medicine. Strong background in managing patients with complex conditions including geriatrics, behavioral health issues, acute pain management, or working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Familiarity with medical coding systems like ICD-9/10 and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for patient records management; knowledge of laboratory experience and specimen processing is a plus. Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or urgent care while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
