Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Wound Care Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and quality of life. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement specialized wound management strategies across diverse clinical settings. Your proactive approach and compassionate care will ensure optimal healing outcomes for patients with complex wounds, including those requiring advanced interventions in hospital, outpatient, or post-acute environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your specialized skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting dedicated to excellence in patient care. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and signs of infection. Develop personalized wound care plans aligned with best practices and patient needs. Perform advanced wound treatments such as debridement, dressing changes, and infection control measures. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff—to coordinate care strategies. Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques, infection prevention, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing. Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient progress through vital signs and physiology knowledge, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for optimal outcomes. Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) with current registration in the applicable state or country. Proven experience as a Wound Care Nurse in settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), outpatient clinics, or post-acute care facilities. Demonstrated expertise in advanced wound management techniques including IV insertion, injection administration, and infectious disease care. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical terminology for precise documentation. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to skin integrity and healing processes. Experience working in diverse environments such as emergency rooms, ICU (including PICU), medical-surgical units, geriatrics, or urgent care centers. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Wound Care Certification (WCC), or equivalent are highly preferred. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and deliver compassionate patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Pay:
$32.01 - $42.17 per hour
