Outpatient Clinical Position - LPN or CMA Conway Medical Center

Position Summary:
The PNS Outpatient Clinical Position (OCP) can be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The OCP will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in a medical practice setting as directed by a physician. The OCP will ensure that quality care is provided to all patients and is responsible for maintaining confidential records of vital statistics and other pertinent data. The OCP will notify patients of diagnostic test results, ensure that clients receive appropriate follow-up care, and educate patients to assure understanding of physician's orders effectively. The OCP will perform duties including but not limited to; rooming patients in a timely manner, recording nursing notes, vital signs, weight, etc., and coordinating care within the office team.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program or;
Licensure/Certification:
Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as a LPN (SCLLR) in good standing required or; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited agency required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
Previous acute care experience preferred. A Minimum of 2 (Two) years prior experience working in physician office setting required. 5 years preferred. Knowledge of standard medical office practices and procedures required. Knowledge of current referral sources/authorization processes preferred. Previous Electronic Medical Record Systems experience preferred.

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with co-workers, nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads. Exemplary core customer service skills required. Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required. Strong organizational skills required. Strong PC skills required. Strong verbal communication skills required.
