To Be Determined Job Description LPN license required, RN preferred Essential duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:
  • Provide direct nursing care and first aid for student illnesses and injuries.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policies, and state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines, as applicable.
  • Monitor immunization compliance and health screenings as required by state law.
  • Communicate with parents, physicians, school personnel, and community agencies regarding student health concerns.
  • Provide health education to students, staff, and families on topics including wellness, disease prevention, nutrition, and safety.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency care until emergency medical personnel arrive.
  • Participate as a member of Section 504, Individualized Education Program (IEP), and other student support teams when health concerns impact educational performance.
  • Identify and report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state law.
  • Monitor communicable diseases and implement infection prevention and control measures.
  • Promote a healthy school environment through collaboration with school staff and community partners. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
  • Knowledge of pediatric nursing, public health principles, and school health practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to student health, including Section 504, IDEA, FERPA, and applicable nursing regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and district information systems.
