Position Purpose:
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) assist in providing excellent patient care by assisting physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office settings. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by the physician.
Hours/Shift:
Full Time/Days - 7:30am to 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities Coordinate surgical procedures, including surgeon and surgical assistant scheduling, patient scheduling, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative follow up appointments. Coordinate with other healthcare providers for patient referrals and manage patient billing and insurance matters related to surgery. Inform patients about the details of their surgery, including risks, benefits, and recovery time. Ensure all necessary documentation and patient records are in order, including verification of advanced directive status, informed consent and sterilization consent forms when appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.
Qualifications Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience working in a healthcare office setting, scheduling, and/or authorizations.

Licensed Practical Nurse Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A basic understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures . Work Requirements Able to reach above and below shoulder level, lift, bend, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and sit for the full scheduled shift. Able to use telephone and computer software and hardware for most of the shift (90% of the day). Expected duties have possible, but not routine, potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
