In this vital role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to diverse patient populations, supporting physicians and healthcare professionals in delivering efficient, patient-centered services. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a comprehensive understanding of medical documentation, and experience working within outpatient or clinic settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' health journeys through attentive assessment, treatment, and education. Responsibilities Perform patient assessments by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and conducting physical examinations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety. Assist with procedures such as catheterization, wound suturing, phlebotomy, and specimen collection while maintaining sterile technique. Manage patient documentation accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on medication administration, disease management—including Alzheimer's care and dementia care—and health coaching tailored to individual needs. Support triage activities by evaluating patient symptoms and determining urgency levels for appropriate care pathways. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for patients with complex conditions such as critical care needs or post-acute care requirements. Maintain clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for daily operations and adherence to infection control standards. Assist in discharge planning and follow-up procedures to promote continuity of care in outpatient settings. Uphold all safety protocols related to airway management, ventilator use, and emergency response procedures. Skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical documentation is essential. Strong clinical skills including vital signs measurement, medication administration, IV insertion, and catheter care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders. Familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding systems for accurate medical record documentation. Ability to perform patient assessments effectively in outpatient environments while demonstrating critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and infection control practices. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or similar healthcare settings is highly desirable; experience with acute pain management or urgent care is a plus.
