Job Description

Seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support our residential behavioral health program in Tarzana, California. This position is ideal for an LVN seeking flexible, on-call work with guaranteed weekly hours in a collaborative mental health treatment environment.

Flexible based on program needs, evenings/weekends may be required Position Summary The LVN is responsible for providing nursing support and medication oversight for clients in a residential mental health setting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders and is able to function independently in a fast-paced residential environment. Similar California residential behavioral health LVN roles commonly include medication administration, vitals monitoring, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Essential Responsibilities Administer and document prescribed medications Monitor client vital signs and overall physical wellbeing Observe and report changes in client condition to clinical leadership Maintain accurate nursing and medication documentation Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, and treatment team members Respond appropriately to medical or psychiatric concerns within scope of practice Ensure compliance with facility policies and California regulatory standards Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic treatment environment Assist with admissions, medication reconciliation, and discharge coordination as needed Qualifications Active and unrestricted California LVN license required Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, detox, or substance use treatment preferred Strong documentation and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of psychotropic medications and behavioral health populations preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Ability to complete medication administration and documentation duties accurately Why Join Autumn Hills?
