  • Location:
  • El Cajon, CA (Home Base Clinic)
  • Additional Locations:
  • May float occasionally to Fashion Valley and Chula Vista clinics
  • Contract Length:
  • 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)
  • Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday rotation (approximately every few weeks)
  • Shift:
  • AM Shift, 5:15 AM to 1:45 PM
  • Hours:
  • 40 Hours per Week

  • Position Overview
  • We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • to join a fast-paced behavioral health and substance use treatment clinic in the San Diego area.
The primary work location is El Cajon, with occasional coverage at nearby clinic locations as needed. This role supports patients receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders. The environment is high-volume, with back-to-back patient interactions, and requires an LPN who is comfortable working with patients who may occasionally present with behavioral health challenges or escalated situations.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Administer medications under established clinical protocols.
+ Provide safe and compassionate nursing care to patients receiving substance use treatment services. + Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the clinical team. + Support patient intake, assessment, and ongoing care coordination. + Utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary. + Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory standards. + Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.

  • . + Successful completion of required screening tests. + Ability to communicate effectively and participate in verbal and physical de-escalation interventions. + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.

  • 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health, acute care, or related clinical experience

The Psychiatric or Mental/Behavioral Health LPN is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the psychiatric unit of a hospital, mental health/behavioral health hospital, or they can be responsible for care in community settings. The LPN must demonstrate the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the care team.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • + Current LPN license in state of assignment + 1 year experience in a psychiatric care setting preferred + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age
