Regional Vocational Nursing Program Director Mentor/Preceptor

Newport Beach, CA TYPE Direct Hire ID CA162-2752931 POSTED Mar 6, 2026 Seeking for a seasoned nursing leader to mentor Program Directors, act as interim director during transitions, and support the Administrative Nursing Director and Chief Academic Officer with key strategic projects. This role focuses on developing leadership talent, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing academic quality across our Vocational Nursing programs. Act as interim Program Director during the recruitment process for new Program Directors. Plan, develop, manage, update, and evaluate all aspects of the vocational nursing program. Prepare reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and other documentation required by state and Vocational Nursing Boards. Assist with identifying and securing external resources to support nursing program success. Develop and implement program policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards. Organize and serve on committees related to nursing education and academic quality. Develop and maintain educational partnerships with clinical sites. Conduct clinical site evaluations assessing safety, risk, and the ability to meet program objectives. Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, orientation, and retention. Monitor instructional quality and conduct faculty observations, evaluations, and strategic planning sessions. Advise and support potential nursing students during recruitment and admission planning. Ensure students are properly oriented to nursing skills labs and clinical facilities prior to rotations. Participate in recruitment and admission processes for qualified nursing students. Confirm that all students meet documentation, graduation, and licensing exam requirements. Assist in planning and conducting Nursing Advisory Committee meetings. Engage in professional development and maintain required continuing education hours. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state rules and regulations governing vocational nursing practice Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Program Director. Active California Registered Nursing License. Bachelor's degree from an approved school of nursing. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse, including at least 1 year in teaching or clinical supervision (or a combination thereof) within the last 5 years, or a minimum of 3 years in nursing administration or education within the last 5 years.
