We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide essential medical support, staff training, and contribute to the overall well‑being of our participants. You will also be supervising staff alongside another LVN.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00

Role:
As an LVN at IBP, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our participants. Your nursing expertise will support direct care, medication administration, health monitoring, documentation, and staff training. You will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to meet the unique needs of each individual in our program. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration (oral, topical, etc.), wound care, and physician‑ordered treatments.
  • Monitor and document participants' health status, vital signs, and behaviors.
  • Identify and appropriately respond to medical emergencies or changes in condition.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, caregivers, and team members regarding health needs and care plans.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Direct Support Professionals, and others to develop and implement Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and Restrictive Health Care Plans (RHPs).
  • Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with program policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide health‑related training to program staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and program guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication administration area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the LVN scope of practice.
Qualifications:
  • Current and valid LVN license in the State of California.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (BLS).
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (personal or professional experience accepted).
  • Knowledge of common medical conditions and medications.
  • Strong observation, assessment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach toward individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment physical, including a TB test, back X‑ray, lift and carry assessment, and drug test.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, push, pull, bend, turn, and pivot when assisting participants, including those using wheelchairs.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking)
