We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Tomoka Correctional Institution located in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Pay Rate:
$29-$32/hr The LPN is responsible for providing holistic nursing care within the appropriate scope of practice to incarcerated patients. Licensed Practical Nurses work under the direction of Registered Nurses, medical, and psychiatric staff to respond to a range of physical and mental health needs. Qualifications Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one required Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Corrections experience not required Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check Monday- Friday 8a-430p • Infection Control• Develop and update policies and procedures related to infection control with current standards of practice, rules and regulations in collaboration with healthcare clinical leadership Ensure the infection control practices of all staff are in accordance with policies and procedures Ensure compliance with isolation techniques and procedures to control spread of infectious disease Work closely with healthcare staff, laboratory staff, security staff, and state and local agencies in prevention and control of infection Work in conjunction with local, state, site medical and custody leadership in the event of an outbreak to control and contain additional spread of disease Identify as promptly as possible patients and staff who have acquired infection and maintain a register of all notified infections. Provide follow-up reports in order to advise, help and prevent further spread of infection Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Committee activities with focus on identification, investigation, follow-up and policy/process review to ensure infection control practices are maintained and safe patient care is provided Educate staff and patients about infectious disease and safe infection control practices and procedures Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized treatment plans including continuity of care when infectious disease present. Communicate with team members individually, at team meetings and with written documentation as needed Share knowledge, skills and information with peers, colleagues and others.
