Fort Pierce, FL Job Details Full-time 6 days ago Qualifications Computer operation CPR Certification Computer literacy BLS Certification Basic math High school diploma or GED Computer skills Full Job Description Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer system Conduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment. Monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include; medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary Provide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test results Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation Information Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities. Communicate and seek direction from Center Medical Director and Center Management as necessary Learn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company Procedures Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future Maintain an open line of communication with Management Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred Compact license required May travel 50% - 70% of the time Actively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required Requirements Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret directions and instructions Perform basic math calculations Basic computer skills Reasoning ability to identify, interpret and apply appropriate information
