POSITION SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Providers and Center Manager. Must have a current valid Florida LPN license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The LPN is responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of his/her assigned patients. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required for the position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess patient's general condition, take and record vital signs and ensure that the acutely ill patients needs are met. Assist provider with examination procedures as needed. Perform specific nursing procedures within the scope of practice according to accepted nursing practices and administer treatment as ordered by the provider. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating provider's advice and instructions. Administer medications as ordered by the provider. Coordinate patient care by triaging patient telephone calls and walk-ins regarding urgency of appointments. Prepare and deliver immunizations as directed by provider; ensure medical records are accurately documented. Accurately maintain appropriate quality control records in accordance with company procedures. Accurately document all interventions, patient and family responses, medication dispenses or prescribed and all other pertinent information in the medical record. Prepare assigned exam rooms each morning. Rooms should be stocked and cleaned throughout the day.
