Wound Care Nurse - Healing with Precision and Compassion Join Our Team at Aston Health Are you passionate about specialized nursing care that restores health and dignity? At Aston Health, we're looking for a dedicated Wound Care Nurse who thrives on delivering expert care while supporting patients through every stage of healing. About the Role As our Wound Care Nurse, you will provide skilled care to promote rapid and safe healing for various wounds, including surgical sites, ulcers, bedsores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. You will assess wounds, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor for signs of infection, and ensure each wound is cleaned and dressed properly to optimize recovery outcomes. What You'll Do Maintain comprehensive care plans for all skin impairments, updating with any changes in treatment, improvement, or decline. Conduct weekly wound rounds with the wound consultant to ensure quality care and compliance. Perform and document weekly wound measurements with accuracy and timeliness. Investigate and review all new skin openings related to pressure to identify root causes and appropriate interventions. Monitor vascular, arterial, and surgical wounds, ensuring thorough documentation, treatment implementation, and follow-up as needed. Educate and counsel patients and families on wound care processes to promote understanding and participation in healing. Demonstrate wound care procedures to caregivers, enhancing staff competency and patient care standards. What You Bring Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program. Current, active RN license in the state of employment. Peripheral IV certification. Minimum of two (2) years clinical nursing experience. One (1) year of experience in geriatrics or subacute populations preferred. Management experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification. Why Choose Aston Health?
