Job Description

Join our team today to provide a high level of personalized attention and assistance in a one on one setting! Supportive care in New Smyrna Beach as a Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN) is needed to care for a sweet young adult female in her home. She has complex needs including seizure monitoring. We are seeking a compassionate, long-term team member to provide skilled nursing in a clean, quiet, well organized and family-oriented environment. This is not a PRN position—we value dedication and consistency.
Responsibilities :
Provide skilled nursing care, including seizure monitoring and protocols, G-tube feeds, medication administration, bowel management and vital signs tracking. Supportive care to ensure comfort and dignity, addressing needs related to respiratory health, skin integrity and nutrition. Operate and maintain equipment, including wheelchair, Hoyer lift (ceiling), custom bath chair and respiratory equipment (suction, pulse oximeter, percussion). Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) and safe patient transfers. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life. Document medical observations and communicate updates to family and healthcare providers. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable care environment.
Qualifications :
Valid RN or LPN license with current state certification; additional certifications such as BLS or ACLS preferred. Experience preferred with seizure monitoring, G-tube medication administration, enteral feeds, and respiratory equipment. Proven experience in diverse healthcare settings including long-term care facilities or home & community care environments. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued; familiarity with pediatric complex care is a plus. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and collaboration with healthcare team and family members; critical thinking for urgent care situations. Proficiency with Hoyer lift, wheelchair, and custom bath chair for safe transfers and care. Must have the ability to bend over to change her position or clothe her. The job is not appropriate for individuals with physical restrictions. Familiarity with complex conditions like seizures, respiratory care, bowel management and positioning needs strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation. Compassionate, reliable, and excellent communicator. Willing to undergo a background check.
