Licensed Practical Nurse Evening Pediatrics Inc - 2.0 Oakland Park, FL Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Qualifications LPN Full Job Description After Hours Pediatrics is looking for a dynamic, hands-on, team-oriented LPN! The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in an independently owned urgent care clinic. Working under the direction of a physician or licensed provider and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act , the LPN plays a key role in day-to-day clinical operations, patient flow, and creating a welcoming, family-centered experience for children and caregivers. Key Responsibilities Greet, room, and prepare pediatric patients for evaluation in a warm, reassuring manner Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant medical history Assist providers with pediatric exams, minor procedures, and treatments Administer medications as ordered and within Florida LPN scope of practice Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis) Start and discontinue medications when trained, competent, and approved by clinic policy Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the provider Provide basic education to parents and caregivers, reinforcing provider instructions and discharge plans Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with inventory and supply management Support clinic workflow, including assisting other clinical staff as needed during high-volume periods Accurately document all care in the electronic health record Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and Florida Department of Health standards Required Qualifications Active Florida LPN license in good standing Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program Current BLS/CPR certification Comfortable working in a small-team, fast-paced environment Ability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as clinic needs require Preferred Qualifications Pediatric or urgent care experience strongly preferred Familiarity with Florida pediatric immunization requirements Experience in an independent or outpatient clinical setting Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Skills and Attributes Strong pediatric nursing and communication skills Flexible, hands-on, and team-oriented approach Ability to multitask and adapt in a growing clinic environment Compassionate, calm demeanor with children and families Reliable, self-directed, and detail-oriented Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the clinic for extended periods Ability to lift and assist pediatric patients and equipment Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures Work Environment Independent pediatric urgent care clinic High patient interaction with children and families Fast-paced setting with exposure to communicable illnesses
