- Position summary:
- A licensed practical nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and assistance for ill and/or injured residents.
- Responsibilities include:
- + Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures in designated location(s) + Under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with approved standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick call + Refer inmates to providers when appropriate + Assist with provider line + Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders when necessary + Keep equipment and work area clean; Prepare exam room and equipment + Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies as required + Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses + Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules •Education and experience requirements:•+ Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program + An active licensure as a practical nurse in the state of Florida + One (1) year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care + A valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
