Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and sterile techniques. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, wound care, and tube feeding while maintaining aseptic techniques. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions like Alzheimer's disease, dementia, traumatic brain injuries (Level I & II Trauma Centers), or those requiring hospice or palliative support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for patients in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community settings. Support emergency response efforts by managing airway management, ventilator use, and acute pain management during urgent situations or in emergency room environments. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida or relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and documentation standards. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately and efficiently in fast-paced settings such as emergency medicine or urgent care. Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center exposure is advantageous; familiarity with infectious disease care and hospice is a plus. Skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration—including injections—and specimen collection are essential. Excellent communication skills for working with patients of all ages—including pediatrics and neonatal ventilator management—as well as working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments like Alzheimer's or dementia.
