A caregiver in this role should be familiar with performing patient care activities, documenting patient car e and administering medication. Provide accurate medication administration and nursing documentation such as medical records, authorization forms and laboratory requisitions. Implement pain management assessments and documentation. Recognize changes in patient status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians. Recognize and follow through with nursing intervention. Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times. Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician. Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO. Follow Code Blue protocol as per clinic policy. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program Current Florida licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Knowledge of Infection Control Practices Computer literacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of clinical experience Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross IV certification
