Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their health and educational journey. A contract opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated care for two medically involved elementary students during the upcoming school year. As an integral member of a collaborative team, you'll contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care and ongoing health monitoring to two assigned students throughout the school day Accompany students on the school bus to and from campus, ensuring continuity of care and safety Implement and document physician-directed care plans, adjusting as student needs change Respond promptly to medical concerns and emergencies, demonstrating strong clinical judgment Maintain accurate, confidential records of all services and interventions Partner with teachers, paraprofessional staff, parents, and district personnel to ensure comprehensive support Advocate for student health and safety within the educational setting
Desired Qualifications:
Valid, active LPN license in the state of Georgia Hands-on experience in pediatric, school-based, or special education nursing preferred Previous work with medically fragile or complex-needs students is a strong asset Comfortable working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary educational environment Proficient in communication, with solid organizational and documentation abilities Ability to provide three professional references, including one from a recent supervisor
Preferred Background:
Previous school nursing experience Exposure to health support for students with specialized medical equipment or needs Understanding of IEPs and school-based health plans Your expertise will create a safe, accessible educational experience for students who need it most.
