Duties Deliver direct patient care by performing physical examinations, vital signs, and assessments tailored to Spanish-speaking individuals. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, while adhering to safety protocols and documentation standards. Communicate effectively with patients and families in Spanish, explaining procedures, care plans, and health education clearly and empathetically. Assist with medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, wound care, and specimen collection using aseptic techniques. Maintain comprehensive medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and social workers—to coordinate discharge planning and long-term care strategies. Support triage activities by assessing patient needs promptly and directing them to appropriate levels of care such as urgent care or hospital services. Skills Fluent in Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care), or in senior care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation and billing. Skilled in performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture, catheter care, first aid, CPR, sterile processing, and ventilator management. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience working within hospital medicine or long-term care settings is highly desirable. Ability to handle acute pain management cases and participate in infection control practices diligently. Demonstrated capacity for compassionate client communication and caregiver support in fast-paced environments like emergency rooms or ICU units.
