Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric Private Duty Home Care! (Hourly rate dependent on certifications). In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, expert nursing care to children with complex medical needs within their home environment. Your energetic and proactive approach will ensure that each child receives personalized, high-quality care that promotes health, safety, and comfort. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive pediatric nursing care, including medication administration, IV infusion, tube feeding, and ventilator management, tailored to each child's individualized care plan Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to evaluate health status and identify any urgent needs Manage medical documentation accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform specialized procedures including catheterization, phlebotomy, injections, wound suturing, and sterile technique adherence Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans, discharge planning, and health coaching strategies Provide emergency response and acute pain management when necessary, ensuring prompt and effective care during critical moments Maintain infection control standards and ensure safe handling of specimens, medications, and medical equipment in accordance with healthcare regulations Experience Valid LPN or RN license with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Proven experience in pediatric nursing or home health care is highly desirable; familiarity with long-term care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes is a plus Critical care experience including ICU or emergency medicine enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical terminology ensures precise record keeping and billing processes Skilled in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care including Alzheimer's and memory care needs Prior experience in acute care environments such as hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous for handling urgent pediatric cases Familiarity with infection control protocols, gastrostomy tube management, airway management techniques including ventilator support, and post-operative or post-acute care procedures Join us in delivering exceptional pediatric home health services!
