The LPN Charge Nurse position is responsible for providing direct, hands-on resident care, including but not limited to: med passes, treatments, ADLs, documentation & charting and supervising/providing leadership to CNAs. You will work under the supervision of an Assistant DON. Nurses must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. Set rotating schedule - making it an easy two-week rotating pattern Responsibilities (overview): Provide proper supervision and guidance to the CNA team Record a resident's medical history accurately; as well as update changes Documenting vitals; measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc. Observe residents under your care to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc. Monitor residents' condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts Assist residents in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc. Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks Providing timely and accurate documentation within the EMR system Physician orders, lab orders, etc. Collect samples for lab testing as assigned Provide emotional and psychological support when needed Communicate with residents' family to provide advice, comfort and release instructions Skills (overview): Proven experience as LPN or similar role Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team Familiarity with long-term care/hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices Excellent knowledge of medical, long-term care and hospital terminology Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry Perfect physical condition and stamina Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and able to handle stressful situations in a positive and professional manner Current & active LPN license is required If you are interested in working in Long Term Care and are a caring, compassionate nurse that can make a difference in the lives of senior adults, then we would be interested in meeting you.
