What You'll Do:
Evaluation of resident needs, conditions, and care, and assist in developing nursing care plans for individual residents, including rehabilitative and restorative activities and instruction in self-help Professional communication with family members regarding the condition and progress of the resident, including in-person discussion and answering of telephone inquiries Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility Maintain a productive working relationship with other department supervisors and coordinate Nursing services to ensure that daily Nursing services can be performed without interruption Make daily rounds to ensure that Nursing Services personnel that report to you are performing required duties and that Nursing Services policies and procedures are being followed. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift Receive/give the nursing report to/from your Charge Nurse colleague upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours Request and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services for residents, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with our established procedures Implement and maintain established nursing objectives and standards Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who: Active LPN License in Iowa Current CPR/BLS certification (CPR certification offered bi-annually) Positive attitude, empathy, and the ability to lead by example Strong assessment and time-management skills Genuine passion for working with older adults Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
LPN Licensure Experience:
One (1) year experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary, will train the right candidate). Entry Level (0-2 years)
