JOB SUMMARY

The Charge Nurse will be responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out nursing care of residents. The job responsibilities include orienting, instructing, and supervising other personnel: CNAs, CMAs. The Charge Nurse complies with established policies and procedures and performs professional nursing duties within scope of licensure. Keeps

informed of resident status and other pertinent matters. Admit and orients new residents and involves the family with orientation. Check physician's orders, transfer forms and pre-admission information. Reviews resident's medical and social history. Completes admission and documentation forms. Make sure that resident's supplies and medications are ordered and equipment is working properly. Maintains proper documentation of facility records i.e. narcotic records, medical chart forms and weekly skin assessment. Maintains daily, weekly, or monthly weight and vital signs and informs physician/DON/ADON and On Call Manager of any change.
