School Nurse (LPN Certified)

REPORTS TO

Coordinator of Nursing Services on matters concerning school nursing practice and nursing program, principal(s) of school(s) on individual school matters.

JOB SUMMARY

To enhance the educational potential of all students by promoting wellness and facilitating the management of health conditions which create barriers to learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid Idaho professional (LPN) Intermediate Technical Certificate Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, pediatric and community health nursing preferred. Intermediated Technical Certificate or Associate's Degree. Must be successfully approved as a finalist through the district screening process. Must be capable of accomplishing Performance Responsibilities, as identified below. The ability to communicate, including the knowledge of meaning, spelling, and use of the English language, both verbally and in writing. The ability to read and understand work-related materials. Sufficient visual acuity to perform physical assessments and to comprehend, prepare, and review both electronic and printed documents. The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements with hands and fingers, and the ability to react quickly with hands, fingers, and feet. The ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Sufficient personal mobility, flexibility, and balance to climb stairs, run short distances to playgrounds or within the building, and stoop, kneel, and crouch on the ground multiple times without assistance
