Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role designed to support students during an Extended School Year (ESY) program near Arlington Heights, IL. This contract position welcomes both Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) who bring expertise, compassion, and a commitment to student health and well-being in a school environment. Bring your clinical knowledge to a collaborative team focused on delivering attentive care in a dynamic educational setting. Your contributions help create a safe and nurturing atmosphere for students to thrive academically and personally during the ESY term.
Desired Qualifications:
Active LPN/LVN or RN license in the state of Illinois Experience in pediatric or school nursing, with a strong understanding of care protocols in K-12 settings Knowledge of medication administration, first aid, emergency care, and chronic disease management Effective communication with students, faculty, and families Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Current CPR/BLS certification
Key Responsibilities:
Administer daily medications, treatments, and medical procedures as indicated by student care plans Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions Monitor student health status, maintain accurate documentation, and update health records Collaborate with school staff and parents to support students' medical and educational needs Promote a healthy school environment by enforcing policies and providing health education Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable regulations Enjoy a role where your nursing expertise directly shapes the school experience for students.
