Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a 1:1 licensed practical nurse in a dynamic educational setting near Prospect Heights, IL. In this position, you'll make a lasting impact working directly with a student who requires extensive medical care throughout the school day. You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to ensuring the student's well-being and a positive school experience.
What You'll Need:
Active LPN or RN license in Illinois Previous experience in a school setting preferred (LPN/LVN or RN roles) Demonstrated ability to provide care for students with complex health needs, including tracheostomy, g-tube, and seizure management Calm, compassionate, and quick-thinking approach in fast-paced environments Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educational professionals and families
Your Core Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 care and daily health management for a student with significant medical needs Administer and monitor medical interventions such as tracheostomy and g-tube care, and respond quickly to any seizure activity Create a safe, supportive atmosphere supporting the student's educational participation Maintain accurate records of care, interventions, and any incidents during the school day Act as a liaison between school, healthcare providers, and family to ensure coordinated care This position offers competitive hourly compensation at $30-35/hr, providing you with a fulfilling way to utilize your skills while positively impacting a student's daily life.
